The 40th Alexandria Film Festival
The 40th edition of the Alexandria International Film Festival runs from October 1 to 6, under the patronage of Minister of Culture Dr. Ahmed Fouad Heno and Governor Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled Hassan Saeed. This year’s festival features notable events, Mena Shalaby between Berlin and Alexandria Cinematic creativity and postponed honor including the celebration of legendary artist Nelly’s career and screenings of her iconic films that left a lasting legacy in cinema.
Competition Juries and International Participation
The Mediterranean Feature Film Competition’s jury is chaired by director Yousry Nasrallah, with members such as Mahdi Abbas, Angelique Cavallari, Khaled Al-Zadjali, and Tamela Kouliva. Thirteen films are competing this year. The Short Film Competition’s jury is led by French actress Marianne Bourgou, with Gizy Bayoumi and Roaa El Madani.
In the Arab Feature Film Competition, named after Nour El-Sherif, the panel is chaired by cinematographer Samir Farag, with Fayek Jarada and Claudia Hanna serving as jurors.
